I worked on the original design of this kitchen almost 20 years ago when we installed a white Binova kitchen with Carrara marble tops! When we were invited back in 2021 to work on renovating the kitchen, the client explained that some of the appliances were tired and starting to malfunction and they wanted to improve the pantry access and storage. We replaced the sliding pantry door with a pivot door which when open sits seamlessly against a stainless magnetic board. A new integrated Liebherr fridge sits adjacent to pantry door, both providing easy access storage close to the workspace.
We had fun with the material palette on this project and were fortunate to work with existing Ambitec plaster finish on the wing walls. We selected a 12 mm porcelain for the backsplash and wall units which had a similar finish. The timber island sits comfortably on the solid oak floor. Bespoke timber handles on the back of the island provide access to the integrated wine fridge and glass storage and we selected solid brass handles on the fridge and pantry. We specified a quartzite stone which requires less maintenance than the previous benchtop and has a depth of colour which ties all the finishes together and works with the stunning view.
