Simplicity often hides inner complexity. Our brief was to create a kitchen that would look like a piece of furniture and where ‘things’ could be put away when not in use. We made use of the limited space under the stairs for a small walk-in pantry and integrated fridge and used narrow depth tall storage units on either side of the cooking for food and crockery storage. Close collaboration with the architect allowed us to come up with a design that complemented his work and ticked the boxes for the client, both aesthetically and in terms of functionality.
